Another banner week for DVDs with the studios releasing some great films and boxed sets such as: Revolutionary Road [DVD review]- a marvelously realized study of personal decline that, in its specificity, becomes universal; Defiance [Blu-ray review] - a little-known but inspiring true story about a quartet of Jewish farmers in Nazi-occupied Poland who created a forest refuge for other persecuted Jews; and The Adventure of English [review] - a thought-provoking and surprisingly visceral trip through centuries of the development of a language.
