The Aisle View: The Kid Stays in The Picture
This week The Aisle View takes a look at a unique documentary about famed producer Robert Evans called at The Kid Stays in the Picture. Evans is well known for his work with Coppola in The Godfather and has been involved with such notable pictures as Black Sunday, Marathon Man, and Chinatown. Heavenly Creatures - Widescreen
Contrary to early reports, Buena Vista has announced that it's upcoming release of the Peter Jackson thriller Heavenly Creatures, set for release on September 24, will in fact be released in WIDESCREEN, actually a new 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer to be exact along with a remastered Dolby Digital 5.1 audio track. Sadly there aren't any special features on the DVD, but with Peter Jackson on 24/7 Lord of the Rings work it's not surprising that he wasn't available to do a commentary. This Week's DVD Savant
This week The DVD Savant takes a look at the first round of classic Horror DVDs to be released including The Revenge of Frankenstein , The Bride and the Beast and King Dinosaur. DVD Savant also takes a look at 2 two wonderful Ron Mann documentaries from Home Vision Entertainment: Twist! and Comic Book Confidential. Finally DVD Savant takes a look at Paramount's Goin' South starring and directed by Jack Nicholson.

Enigma - No Longer a SE
Columbia Tri-Star has corrected thier announcement the DVD release for Michael Apted's (Director of Enough, World Is Not Enough, 28 UP) Enigma with Dougray Scott and Kate Winslet. Enigma is a film about World War II code breaking and was a hit when it premiered at Sundance. Set for release on September 24 Enigma will NO LONGER feature audio commentary, deleted scenes or a making of due to a change in the 'production process'. Pre-Order Enigma now

Down By Law - Criterion
Criterion has announced the DVD release for the Jim Jarmusch classic Down By Law. Set for release on October 22, Down By Law will be a 2 DVD Special Edition featuring: a new anamorphic widescreen transfer of the film, audio commentary by Jim Jarmusch, interviews, footage from a press conference and more. We're also assuming that there will be the answers to some of the questions submitted for the 'Ask Jim Jarmusch' promo that Criterion ran several months ago. Pre-Order Down By Law Now.
