DVD Talk Interview: Fraily Writer Brent Hanley
DVDTalk writer Phillip Duncan was lucky enough recently to chat with screenwriter Brent Hanley about his screenplay for the Bill Paxton directed film Frailty. An interesting interview, Hanley has opinions on everything from the state of horror films to the studio system in Hollywood. Seemingly bitten by the directing bug himself, he reveals a little about his next screenplay and what he hopes to be his directorial debut. Honest and opinionated with an obvious love for film. This Week's Notable DVDs
Two notable releases from Universal this week: The high octane, Prequel to Universal's Mummy Franchise The Scorpion King [Review], Brotherhood of The Wolf [Review] an ultra cool French Kung-Fu Monster Movie that shouldn't be missed. Warner Bros classics The Thin Man, The Shop Around The Corner (Remade as 'You've Got Mail) , Horror of Dracula and Curse of Frankenstein (none of which were available in time for review), and the hidden gem Nine Queens [Review] - an intricate and rewarding Argentinian crime story from Columbia Tri-Star.

CineSchlock-O-Rama: Jason X
It's Sequel-O-Rama with that ill-tempered fella in a hockey mask blasting into the cosmos in Jason X. Cannibals pick spokes from their teeth in the motocross redux The Hills Have Eyes Part II. Unruly bloodsuckers belly up for another whupin' in Blade II. Also an ode to the late Doris Wishman with Satan Was A Lady.
