The latest WWE "No Way Out" is, believe it or not, only the eight one that has taken place. This two hour and forty-seven minute pay-per-view, held at the First Mariner Arena in Baltimore, Maryland, featured a few surprises, a couple of good matches and one of the best matches the two wrestlers involved have ever put on.

Here's the card:

• WWE Crusierweight Championship [Psicosis vs. Super Crazy vs. Brian Kendrick vs. Paul London vs. Scotty 2 Hotty vs. Funaki vs. Kid Kash vs. Nunzio vs. Gregory Helms] - What a great match to open this show! As i've stated before, one of the few strengths of SmackDown! is its crusierweight division. And looking over the rest of the card, there are a couple of matches that could've been trimmed (or eliminated) to expand the length of this match. All the participants put on high energy, high-flying spot filled match that could've been a lot longer.
  
  
• Theodore Long in his office with Booker T. and Sharmell
- I like Teddy Long. That is all.


• Kristal Marshall outside WWE.com 'Instant Access' room
  
  
• Lashley vs. JBL - Apparently, Lashley went into this match with an undefeated streak in singles matches appearances. Thanks to a clothesline from hell from JBL and Finlay's shillelagh, it stops here. Not that much of a fan of JBL's, sure he's been good in some matches and he does some good heel promos, but I wouldn't find myself sitting in front of the TV anxiously awaiting his match. I really don't know that much about Lashley to care either way. He's a big guy, and he does have a couple of moves, but I found myself counting the minutes until the next match.
  
  
• Batista promo in the ring - Even though he's currently on the DL, Batista stops by to let fans know he's still in the industry, he's close to healed and he'll be taking back the Heavyweight belt once he returns.
  
  
• Randy Orton walks in on Kurt Angle in his locker room - Nothing sordid. Get your mind outta the gutter.
  
  
• WWE Tag Team Championship [Matt Hardy & Tatanka vs. MNM] - Up until the match took place, Matt Hardy's tag team partner was unknown. After a pretty being paired with just about every single person in the WWE, many were speculating (or even hoping) that his brother Jeff would be making his way to the ring. Since Jeff is no longer with TNA, that could be a future possibility. For now, Tatanka was the one to stroll down to the ring to team with Matt for this match. MNM are probably one of the best (and only) tag teams the WWE has had in a long time. Heck, I think the Goldust/Booker T combo was the last time a "team" entertained me. That said, this was a pretty good match. In addition to MNM, Matt Hardy puts on another good show and Tatanka...well, Tatanka gets an "'ol school" pass from me. In fact, he seems to be in much better shape than previous "'ol schoolers" that the WWE has resurrected.
  
  
• United States Championship [Chris Benoit vs. Booker T.] - Honestly? There really isn't much that I can say about this match. Lately, it seems like Booker is the only person that Benoit wrestles. Much like those other matches, Benoit puts on a helluva show, but i'd really like to see him in a different feud.
  
  
• WrestleMania Title Opportunity [Rey Mysterio vs. Randy Orton] - Say what you will about Randy Orton, but he's a damn good heel. He exudes a natural cockiness and has shown that he possesses the skill to be a good wrestler. It's a shame he can't get his backstage persona in order. But enough tabloid talk. While I don't have a problem with Rey and Randy feuding, I have a problem with the way they've gone about it. Basically, they've decided to use the late Eddie Guerrero to get some unnecessary heat for Orton. As i've already stated, Randy's a good, natural heel who really doesn't need cheap, exploitative stunts to get heat. However, that's what the fine folks at the WWE have decided to use as a catalyst for this feud. After Rey won the Royal Rumble, he decided to defend Eddie's name by proving he's the better wrestler - hence, this match. Size difference aside, both fellas are pretty evenly matched and put on one of the better matches on the disc.
  
  
• World Heavyweight Championship [Kurt Angle vs. Undertaker] - I admit that i'm not that big a fan of the Dead Man's. In fact, his whole "undefeated" schtick and the way he always seems to squash whomever he faces gets on my nerves with a quickness. When G!, our fearless head honcho, designated me as the reviewer of choice for WWE Tombstone - the History Of the Undertaker, I was torn. I always appreciate it when my boss suggests a disc for me to review, but this was a wrestler that I really could care less about. However, after watching the disc, I saw that he put on some great matches in the past and I respect the way he came up. Kurt Angle, on the other hand, is one of my favorite wrestlers. He puts 138% of himself into every single match he's in, sometimes even wrestling when injured (in fact, he was recently wrestling through an injury until Mark Henry gave him an "out" by breaking a rib or two). I have no problem saying that this was one of the best matches i've seen so far this year. Both guys really stepped up and for close to thirty minutes, put one one helluva match. If the WWE ever puts out a Kurt Angle DVD, well, it'll have to be a multi-disc set to fit all of his great matches on it, but this one will definitely be among them.

Video: No Way Out's picture was colorful and vibrant. There was some slight compression issues due to some of the pyro and graphic elements. It's presented in the WWE's standard full frame 1.33:1 ratio.

Audio: The Dolby Digital 5.1 sound was crystal clear and enveloped my living room while I was watching it. Viewers are also given the option of watching the disc in Spanish.

Conclusion: No Way Out probably had the fewest matches of any PPV i've reviewed so far. However, with the exception of the JBL/Lashley match and the Benoit/Booker match, they were enjoyable. I'm still trying to figure out how the running time could be so long with so few matches. Regardless, I have no trouble giving this one a Recommended rating for the Angle/'Taker and cruiserweight matches.
