I was very surprised at how much I liked the Cruel Intentions DVD. I had fully expected this contemporary remake of Dangerous Liaisons to be yet another teen angst flick. Instead I was delighted to find that Cruel Intentions is a slick and sophisticated modernization of the great classic story

You can't talk about this movie without mentioning the incredible chemistry between Ryan Phillippe and Reese Witherspoon (who ended up getting married after making this film). Their interaction on screen is electric and breathes life into this film.

Watching this film for the first time it's easy to miss the many subtleties which make up the world of Cruel Intentions, but after spending some time with the extras and watching the film again you'll begin to discover the true heart of this film

One of the things that interested me the most on this DVD, is the behind the scenes features, which truly gives a substantial look at what went in to making this DVD. My favorite part is an explanation on the elements which went in to creating the look of the film. After watching that and then watching the film again, it was like watching a completely new film.

Cruel Intentions is my pick for one of the great DVD's of 1999 that was easily missed, it's a great DVD and one worth adding to your collection.
