Review by Chuck Arrington | posted January 20, 2000 | E-mail the Author
Synopsis: Three wise men en route to celebrate the birth of Jesus go to the wrong house & give their blessings & gifts to a baby named Brian. However, as soon as they discover their mistake, they take back all of their gifts & head up the street to the right house. Such is the life of Brian. Always in the wrong place at the wrong time. Later as a young man, Brian joins the People's front of Judea, a liberation army if you will for the Judean people. A misguided lot in all, his membership with them & the subsequent disjointed speech he gives to this gathering of the addled "brain-ed" leads to the confusion that he is the messiah & has come to save the people of Judea, Samaria & all parts in between! Very funny stuff indeed!

Video:The video shows the age of the print with a great many white flecks & striations throughout the body of the print. Other than those exceptions, the film was fine.

Audio:The audio is a disappointing Dolby digital Stereo platform. At times it seems almost Mono. The only places where the sound is rich and full is in the animated menu screens.

Extras:The extras include a very grainy trailer & talent files on all the pythons.

Overall:Monty Python lampoons like no other! These geniuses provide non stop comedy in this irreverent yet awesomely funny tale. Next to Mel Brooks, these guys are the kings of comedy! Definately recommended!
