Trick
The Movie: A cute and amusing story, Trick follows the escapades of two gay men as they try and find a room for the night. And thus begins the one night stand - but with no where to go. While the movie seems to lag at times, the script is enough to keep the movie going providing fresh, comedic moments throughout. I wanted to see it in theaters because it looked interesting and gained publicity at Sundance. The movie was fun to watch, but the repeat viewing quotient isn't that high. Nonetheless, it provides an interesting viewing the first time.
The Picture: The picture is superb. With an anamorphic transfer, there isn't really much more to ask for. There are no noticeable problems with the picture and even the dark scenes look exceptional.
The Sound: There isn't much to review for the sound. It's perfect throughout with no problems and even though it's only 2.0 Stereo, this film doesn't call for anything more.
The Extras: Nope - well, let me see, on the back in big, bold letters it proclaims "Interactive Menus!" Well it's about time we had interactive menus on DVDs (oh wait - they're standard - good thing they told me this one has them). Aside from the miracle of interactive menus, there is a trailer along with cast and crew filmographies - pretty scant for a $25 disc.
Conclusion: In conclusion, this movie is worth a rental, but not much more. There aren't enough extras to warrant a $25 price tag and the repeat viewings probably won't be as good as the first. Try it out, if you like the movie, add it to your collection, but don't buy this just because you think you need it.
