The Movie:

Yet another of the "Real World You Never Saw" series, this one focusing on Las Vegas's edition promises much in the way of sex and foul language (the curses are unbleeped here), but delivers about as much as the prior editions do - in other words, not much. Still, this season - likely the most raunchy of the many - makes for some funny outtakes, including two of the roommates going at it while asking another on the next bed over what her favorite board game is.

Other topics ventured into include the usual: who passed gas (and the sub-topic of who was able to belch the loudest), who made out with who and who occasionally ran into a camera person or persons. The camera outtakes towards the end or some of the jokes the roommates played on each other are the funniest moments because they seem the least rehearsed. The vacation footage - this time, the cast goes to Australia - is also amusing.

Overall, this program is about on the same level as the rest - those who are fans of the series will likely find it moderately entertaining fare, but casual viewers may be less interested.

The DVD

VIDEO: "Real World You Never Saw: LV" is presented in the show's original 1.33:1 full-frame aspect ratio. As with the other Paramount releases of MTV material, the picture quality is first-rate, with particularly good sharpness and detail - a level of definition that actually seems to better the broadcast quality, if only slightly.

Only a few minor faults turned up in the picture quality: some slight shimmering showed up, as did a tiny trace or two of pixelation. Other than that, the picture looked crisp, clean and bright, with no edge enhancement or other concerns. The bright color palette of the show - especially given the fact that it takes place in Vegas - looks bright and vibrant.

SOUND: The program's 2.0 soundtrack is decent, offering crisp and clear music and dialogue.

EXTRAS: A short "house tour" featurette, bios and bloopers.

Final Thoughts: Fun but forgettable, "Real World You Never Saw: Las Vegas" is recommended for fans only. Paramount's DVD offers fine audio/video quality, along with a few decent supplements.
