Picture:
Castle of Cagliostro is presented in its original aspect ratio of 1.85:1 widescreen. While its not anamorphic, the picture displays little to no saturation or bleeding; it's a fantastic digital remastering of the print. A few nicks are notable here and there as are the reel marks, but don't distract from the presentation.

Sound:
Three options are available: English Stereo, Japanese Stereo, and Japanese Stereo w/ English Subtitles. The dubbing and the subtitles are very well done, although the dub contains a few obscenities not contains in the subtitles. The sound, although center-channel oriented, is quite good for a film twenty years old.

Extras:
Castle of Cagliostro contains eleven chapter stops, interactive motion menus, a list of Manga's other DVD releases, weblinks, the Manga 2000 Fanclub Trailer and the Manga 2000 trailer that contains clips from other Manga releases, such as Ninja Scroll and Ghost in the Shell.

Summary:
Castle of Cagliostro is one of the best anime movies that I've ever seen. It's got a clever and charming mix of romance, comedy, adventure, and action that keeps the viewer hooked throughout the film. Fans of anime or even movie lovers in general – take note – Castle of Cagliostro is one for your collection, and is not to be missed.
