The Tall Blonde Man With One Black Shoe Blu-ray Review

The Tall Blonde Man With One Black Shoe is a French comedy farce from director Yves Robert (My Father's Glory, My Mother's Castle). The film was produced by Alain Poire (Jean de Florette, Manon of the Spring) and director Yves Robert. Robert wrote the script with screenwriter Francis Veber (The Birdcage, The Dinner Game).

The story of the film focuses on Francois Perrin (Pierre Richard), an acclaimed violinist who stumbles into a mad-cap chase involving the French government. The superspy French elite receive bad-information and are on the chase to take-down Perrin, who is believed to be a massive threat to the country. Using their top forces, they go after Perrin and even use an immensely beautiful henchwoman named Christine (Mireille Darc) to try and stop him.

The comedy ensues from the fact that Perrin is actually just a goofy violinist (who is even working on making an opera) and who happened to be wearing a bad pairing of shoes. In stumbling into this scenario, Perrin's affair with his best friend's wife becomes an issue in Perrin's friendship, but he's also soon to fall madly for Christine (who also falls in love with him).

Neil Lumbard is a lifelong fan of cinema. He aspires to make movies and has written two screenplays on spec. He loves writing, and currently does in Texas.
