Killer Rack:
Cult Auteur and Gore Comedy specialist Gregory Lamberson might not be the most prolific director; eleven films released since Slime City in 1988, (but filmed earlier) but you must admire his consistency. Killer Rack from 2015 perfectly captures Lamberson's entire ethos: a little fun, a little gore, a little sexuality and a little Lloyd Kaufman. This might be his most outrageous, and best movie yet, but it still feels like something Frank Henenlotter's genial cousin might have directed. If that sounds somewhat mild, I don't think Lamberson would mind. If you like the director's thing, you'll love Killer Rack.

Poor Betty (Jessica Zwolak) finds herself overlooked at work and unloved at home. People in her town are breast-obsessed, and she doesn't exactly stack up in that department. Enter Dr. Kate Thulu, (Debbie Rochon) plastic surgeon extraordinaire, and a gal with a plan to take over the world by turning Betty's attention grabbing fake new ta-tas into an evil extra dimensional creature. Circumstances get a bit ridiculous after that.

While Lamberson's debut didn't get the mix quite right, Killer Rack dials it in perfectly. There's no doubt this is a comedy first and foremost. Titillation and trauma share the stage with oddly naturalistic madcap comedy. You'll definitely leave with a smile on your face.

Lamberson's ear for trenchant but extremely broad comedy hits all the right notes, with Debbie Rochon further cementing her reputation as a very talented actress, rather than just a Scream Queen, even when her bloodstained plastic surgeon character is rolling around on the floor throwing a tantrum. Zwolak makes Betty thoroughly likeable and relatable. She's even quite hot as she forces some losers face into her toothy fun bags, as gallons of blood fly.

Killer Rack blends outrageously fake gore, plenty of laughs, comedic songs, and believable performances, into the perfect gore-comedy mix. Fans of director Gregory Lamberson, and those looking for a change from their usual bloody diets should find this movie well worth their time. Recommended.

The DVD

Video:
Camp Motion Pictures brings us Killer Rack in an anamorphic 1.78:1 ratio widescreen transfer that's entirely acceptable. Details are sharp throughout the frame, colors are natural and rich, and compression artifacts are not a problem. As far as visual quality for DVD goes, this is par for the course.

Sound:
2.0 Stereo Audio is equally acceptable. The mix is clean and balanced fairly well, with some decent dimensionality and a lack of distortion or damage.

Extras:
Killer Rack comes with a few extras, including 18 minutes of Behind The Scenes footage, an engaging Commentary Track, four Deleted Scenes, plus two Bonus Short Films, Kill The Bitch! (16 minutes) and The Camper, (3 minutes) and Trailers.

Final Thoughts:
Killer Rack blends outrageously fake gore, plenty of laughs, comedic songs, and believable performances, into the perfect gore-comedy mix. Fans of director Gregory Lamberson, and those looking for a change from their usual bloody diets should find this movie well worth their time. Recommended.
