| Biography: | Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, Christopher first realized movies could be both art and entertainment when he saw Woody Allen's The Purple Rose of Cairo at the tender age of 11. He went on to write about film, books, music, and culture for various Portland-area publications beginning in the late '90s. In 2006, he took a sabbatical from writing and reviewing to complete a B.A. in Comparative Literature and French at the University of Washington, though he spent much of his energy there trying to engage his French profs on the topic of their cinema, to which he is partial. He fantasizes about living the cinematheque life a la Bertolucci's The Dreamers (minus the incest, of course).
He currently lives in Seattle with his partner, Cameron Smith, and their cat, Nico, who likes to rib her film-snob owners by sneaking her Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties DVD into their 2001 case. |
