A man (Vladimir Cruz) walks into bus station in a rural Cuban town. He wants to go to Havana but he will have to wait because the bus has broken down and there is a long line of people waiting to take whichever bus comes first. A woman (Thaimi Alvarino) walks into the same bus station. She wants to go to another town but she too will have to wait. And wait they do for three or four days.

When they realize that they may not go anywhere for a while they begin to find a way to fix the broken bus. And in time they get to know one another along with all the other travelers in the bus station.

The film isn't all romance and comedy however. It does have a politcal undertone about the ineffeciancy of communism as well as a human story about what people can achieve when they are put into a less than satisfactory situation.

Well acted, directed and written the film is a pleasure to watch from start to finish.

The film also has an element of magic realism just to let us know that the utopia the people create in the bus station may not be that perfect.

Presented in 1.85:1 and adapted to 16:9 the film looks excellent. The film was shot with a lot of natural light both indoors and outdoors in the one location in Cuba.

Audio:
Audio has a 5.1 mix and sounds great. There is a Cuban soundtrack that floats in and out. Film is in Spanish with removable subtitles.

Extras:
The best extra is a 16 minute Making-of documentary which includes interviews with the director and the principal cast. There is also the standard director filmography.
