Contrary to early reports, Buena Vista has announced that it's upcoming release of the Peter Jackson thriller Heavenly Creatures, set for release on September 24, will in fact be released in WIDESCREEN, actually a new 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer to be exact along with a remastered Dolby Digital 5.1 audio track. Sadly there aren't any special features on the DVD, but with Peter Jackson on 24/7 Lord of the Rings work it's not surprising that he wasn't available to do a commentary.
