There has been plenty of rap crossover onto the silver screen during the last twenty years but no movie has been as true to the tenets of old-school hip-hop as Charlie Ahearn's Wild Style (1983). Thankfully, Rhino has released this classic on DVD with a terrific commentary track from Ahearn and one of the film's prime movers Fab 5 Freddy. Cinema Gotham was happy to review this welcome release.
