The Aisle View: The Last Samurai & Barbarian Invasions
This week's The Aisle View, takes a look at Tom Cruise's latest film The Last Samurai directed by Ed Zwick who returns to much of the same ground he covered in Glory. Find out why some people are calling The Last Samurai 'Dances with Samurai'. Also this week The Aisle View takes a look at The Barbarian Invasions which addresses issues such as the problems of universal health care and assisted suicide, without ever losing its buoyancy. The Barbarian Invasions is a thoughtful, expertly crafted film full of likeable characters and it's one of the best foreign films we've seen this year.
