This week the First Annual TV on DVD Awards were given out (sponsored by Video Store Magazine, and with DVD Talk as a member of the judging panel), the winners include: I Love Lucy: The Complete Second Season for Best 1950s Series, Star Trek: The Original Series Season 1 for Best 1960s Series, Battlestar Galactica - The Complete Epic Series for Best 1970s Series, The Kids in the Hall: Complete Season One for Best 1980s Series, The Simpson's Season 4 for Best 1990s Series and Best Animated Series, 24 Season Two for Best 2000s Series, The Office for Best British TV Release, The World at War for Best Made-for-TV Documentary, The Ultimate Johnny Carson Collection for Best Compilation, Shogun for Best Miniseries or TV Movie and 24 Season Two: "Exposed Part One & Part Two" featurette for Best Special Feature and The Dick Van Dyke Show got an award for Best of Show. We'd also like to give a special 'Shout! Out' for Freaks and Geeks: The Complete Series which surprisingly didn't win an award, but in our minds is the best TV on DVD release so far this year!
