Silent DVD - The Forgotten films of Fatty Arbuckle
Silent DVD has a review of one of the most anticipated early film releases for this year: Laughsmith's four disc set of The Forgotten films Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle. The set includes some wonderfully funny shorts as well as the last feature Arbuckle made for Paramount before he was banned from movies. Several shorts he directed under the pseudonym William B. Goodrich are also included. This set is a very good representation of this talented comic's career, and a DVD Talk Collector Series disc that you won’t want to miss. There is also a look at Milestone’s release of The Olive Thomas Collection, single disc that has a film by and documentary about this astonishing beauty who died tragically young. This month’s column also has reviews of two Mary Pickford DVDs, Suds and Through the Back Door, as well as a look at the second volume of Slap Happy. Don't forget to check out our previous columns for other volumes in the Slap Happy series, more Mary Pickford DVDs, and an in depth look at Edison: The Invention of the Movies.
