DVD Talk Interview: Asian Film Master - Kiyoshi Kurosawa
For audiences looking for complex and intelligent cinema, there is a growing sentiment that the films coming out of Asia are the best in the world. Filmmaker Kiyoshi Kurosawa is on the top directors in that class, many of which are grouped together under the label "Asian Extreme". Kiyoshi Kurosawa excels in combining strong filmmaking fundamentals with storytelling, rich in themes and symbolism to produce challenging films that continue to reward even the most critical viewer. Recently, DVD Talk Writer James Emanuel Shapiro had a chance to speak with Mr. Kurosawa about several films in his filmography (including Charisma, Cure, Pulse and Seance), his background, and some of his philosophies behind his filmmaking. Read our complete interview with Kiyoshi Kurosawa.
