TV on DVD Reviews: Rescue Me, Little Britain and The Merv Griffin Show
Some great TV on DVD releases reviewed this week including: Rescue Me: S2 - a series that quite willing to take its viewers on a wild ride; The Merv Griffin Show: 40 of the Most Interesting People of Our Time - nine hours of interviews with such luminaries as Orson Welles, Ingrid Bergman, Richard Burton, Sophia Loren, Sammy Davis, Jr. and more; Little Britain: S2 - an extremely funny series, but not as strong as the first season; Northern Exposure: S1 & 2 - the first two seasons of this enjoyable show in a more affordable package; Dinosaurs - S1 & 2 - a unique series that isn't for everyone; Grounded For Life: S2 - a solid second season with a great cast who works very well together; The West Wing: S6 - a marked improvement over the fifth season with lots of cast changes and character reboots; King of the Hill: S6 - far from the show's best year but still worth watching; Thundercats: S2 V1 - a turning point for the show and where the fanbase really took hold; Naked City - Set 3 - complex writing, fantastic performances, and gorgeous black-and-white cinematography make this one you'll likely revisit often; Two DVDs from SNL Saturday Night Live: The Best of Commercial Parodies and Saturday Night Live: The Best of Cheri Oteri.
