New Movie Reviews: The Puffy Chair, The Break-Up and Peaceful Warrior
If you are lucky enough to live in Austin, Boston, Portland, San Francisco, or Washington D.C then this weekend you have the opportunity to catch one of the most honest and fun movies of the year - The Puffy Chair. After winning over audiences at Sundance, SXSW and BendFilm this neo-relationship film finally gets its theatrical release it deserves. If The Puffy Chair isn't at a theater near you, the only real big release this week is Director Peyton Reed's The Break-Up with Vince Vaughn and Jennifer Aniston. Brian Orndorf finds a lot more to like about The Break-Up than just the film's laughs. Also opening, in limited release, this week is Peaceful Warrior - the latest from Director Victor Salva about a collegiate gymnast who finds a mentor in Nick Nolte, Surf School - a waste of time about some Laguna Beach highschoolers who want to win a surf contest, and Typhoon - a South Korean import about a North Korean pirate with a devious plan involving nuclear waste and a huge typhoon. Be sure to catch reviews of other recent Theatrical Films: X-Men: The Last Stand, An Inconvenient Truth, District B13, Over The Hedge, The Da Vinci Code, Mission: Impossible III, and Poseidon. As always, we invite you to share your thoughts on films in theaters in our Movie Talk Forum Area.
