New Movie Reviews: World Trade Center, Step Up, and Once in a Lifetime
Oliver Stone puts his conspiracy theories and politics aside in the riveting film, World Trade Center, about two Port Authority police officers who became heroes on 9/11. Vastly different than this year's earlier film about 9/11 (United 93), World Trade Center is a compelling drama about the people effected on that tragic day rather than the events themselves. Also in theaters this week is Step Up - when Tyler Gage gets sentenced to community service at the Maryland School of the Arts it's up to a promising ballet dancer to bring out his unexplored talent; Once in a Lifetime - the documentary about the short-lived North American Soccer League, which brought superstar Pele and the New York Cosmos to US audiences; and Pulse - an Asian horror remake, starring the beautiful Kristen Bell, that had its fair share of hiccups on the way to the big screen. Be sure to catch reviews of other recent Theatrical Films: The Descent, The Night Listener, Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, Barnyard, Miami Vice, Clerks II, Little Miss Sunshine, Scoop, The Ant Bully. As always, we invite you to share your thoughts on films in theaters in our Movie Talk Forum Area.
