DVD Savant: Femme Fatale Collection, The Last Broadcast and Billy Wilder Speaks
This week the DVD Savant has a number of new reviews including: The Femme Fatale Collection - Spider Women. Evil babes from Outer Space. Tremble before the non-PC horrors of three of the campiest Science Fiction embarrassments of the 1950s; The Girls - Mai Zetterling scores another superior art film; Second Chorus - Fred Astaire only dances a couple of times but he does great comedy work with Burgess Meredith and Paulette Goddard; Edgar G. Ulmer: The Man Off-Screen - A creative look at the career and complications of the supposed King of the B's; Billy Wilder Speaks - Volker Schlondorff pulls a miracle out of his vault -- a lengthy career interview from Billy Wilder; The Last Broadcast - This precursor to The Blair Witch Project covers almost the exact same ground with a more sophisticated attitude toward 'reality' filmmaking. Read all this and more in this week's DVD Savant.
