New Movie Reviews: Departed, Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, and Employee of the Month
Martin Scorsese tackles the 2002 Hong Kong cult hit, Infernal Affairs, with his own version of the violent morality tale called The Departed. With a stellar cast consisting of Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, and Jack Nicholson (just to name a few), The Departed seems poised to be a surefire hit for the master director and a film you definitely don't want to miss. Also in theaters this week is The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning - Jonathan Liebesman tries to tell the origin story of one of the horror genre's most legendary icons while R. Lee Ermey chews up the scenery, once again, as Sheriff Hoyt; Employee of the Month - Someone must have forgotten how bad Jessica Simpson was in The Dukes of Hazzard and gave her a fairly large role (alongside Dane Cook and Dax Shepard) in this lackluster comedy; and Jesus Camp - this documentary about a "summer camp in Devil's Lake, North Dakota where the kids can eat, sleep, and breathe Jesus, essentially preparing them for future warfare" is sure to cause controversy. Be sure to catch reviews of other recent Theatrical Films: Going to Pieces: The Rise and Fall of the Slasher Film, The Guardian, School for Scoundrels, Open Season, Revolver, The Queen, The Last King of Scotland, Jackass: Number Two, All the King's Men, Flyboys, The Science of Sleep, Fearless, Haven, The Motel, The Black Dahlia, The U.S. vs. John Lennon. As always, we invite you to share your thoughts on films in theaters in our Movie Talk Forum Area.
