DVD Talk Interview: Roy Disney
This week DVD Talk writer Paul Mavis had the opportunity to sit down and talk with Roy Disney. Growing up as the son of one of the founders of Disney and nephew to the great Walt Disney, Roy spent his childhood on the Disney Studio lot. When he grew up, Roy went into the family business, ultimately becoming the company's vice chairman and head of the animation department. Roy oversaw the golden age of Disney including The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King. Roy took time out of his still very busy schedule to speak about a project close to his heart Disney's True-Life Adventure Series. The True-Life Adventure Series -- a series of 13 groundbreaking films that captured the wonder of animals and nature and won eight Academy Awards -- epitomize the magic of Walt Disney. Read our complete interview with Roy Disney. Be sure to also check out our recent interviews with Kevin Smith, Jet Li, Michael Cuesta and Guy Pearce.
