New Movie Reviews: Blood Diamond, Holiday, and Apocalypto
You can't go wrong when you've got Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Connelly, and Djimon Hounsou leading the way in your latest film, and Edward Zwick's Blood Diamond is no exception. The exciting search, through Sierra Leone, for a priceless "conflict diamond" unravels as Blood Diamond opens wide this weekend. Also in theaters this week is The Holiday - this sweet-natured Nancy Meyers film pairs Jack Black with Kate Winslet and Jude Law with Cameron Diaz; Apocalypto - Can audiences look past Mel Gibson's recent controversy, or maybe the question is - should they? and Unaccompanied Minors - a group of youngsters draw up their own holiday celebration while stranded in Chicago's O'Hare International Airport. Be sure to catch reviews of other recent Theatrical Films: Van Wilder 2: The Rise of Taj, The Nativity Story, Turistas, 10 Items or Less, Volver, The Fountain, Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny, Deck the Halls. As always, we invite you to share your thoughts on films in theaters in our Movie Talk Forum Area.
