New DVD Reviews: A Scanner Darkly, Lady in the Water and Rocky
With over 17,900 DVD reviews in the DVD Talk Review Database, it's easy to overlook some of the great reviews. Recent DVD Reviews include: A Scanner Darkly - Richard Linklater's faithful adaptation of Philip K. Dick's story is a visual treat; Lady in the Water - M. Night Shyamalan's latest doesn't exactly work, but that shouldn't stop you from renting it; John Water's This Filthy World - a Netflix exclusive, fresh off its debut at the Toronto International Film Fest; Rocky: Collector's Edition - the theatrical release of Balboa on the horizon, MGM finally gives Rocky the 2 disc special edition it deserves; Grey Gardens - Criterion - Criterion bundles the cult classic with The Beales Of Grey Gardens for a double shot at two completely eccentric counter-culture heroines; Saint of 9/11 - one of the more poignant and emotional post 9/11 docs, focused on Father Mychal Judge who perished in the collapse of the twin towers; Un Coeur en Hiver (A Heart in Winter) - simply THE best release from Koch Lorber Films yet on DVD. Visit the DVD Talk Review Database for all the latest reviews including an entire section devoted to reviews of DVDs out this week as well as a new feature which lets you Browse reviews by studio.
