TV on DVD Reviews: The Lost Room, Addiction and Anthony Bourdain No Reservations
A number of notable TV on DVD releases reviewed recently including: Addiction - HBO's sweeping documentary series is an illuminating examination of the problem of drug and alcohol abuse in America; The Lost Room - Those who appreciate sci-fi in the vein of The Twilight Zone and The X-Files will enjoy this supernatural mystery, highlighted by solid performances, tight pacing and a strong atmosphere; People Places & Plants - a terrific series that is fun for both new and skilled gardeners; Anthony Bourdain - No Reservations - a funny show with a message to be found in each episode as Tony narrates his thoughts about a culture in the only way that he can; Jonestown: The Life & Death of Peoples Temple - this engaging PBS documentary is completely morbid and very dark, but fascinating never the less; Justice League Unlimited - Season Two - is an oddity, as the creators didn't even think they'd get to do a second season.
