New Movie Reviews: Hairspray, I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry, and Sunshine
Adam Shankman directs the latest adaptation of an adaptation with his musical Hairspray. Newcomer Nikki Blonsky and John Travolta star in this excellent adaptation of the Broadway musical (which is an adaptation of the 1988 John Waters film). Plus...Christopher Walken is in the film. How can you go wrong? Hairspray sings and dances into theaters everywhere this weekend. Also in theaters this week is I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry - Adam Sandler, Jessica Biel, and Kevin James lead the way in this wacky comedy about pretending to be a gay couple for domestic partner benefits; Sunshine - Danny Boyle and Cillian Murphy team up again in this chilling tale about eight astronauts on a mission to re-ignite the dying sun; and Rescue Dawn - Warner Herzog returns to the big screen with this war flick starring Christian Bale and Steve Zahn. Be sure to catch reviews of other recent Theatrical Films: Dynamite Warrior, Cashback, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Talk to Me, Raiders of the Lost Ark: The Adaptation, Spielberg on Spielberg, Captivity, Joshua, Transformers, Punk's Not Dead, Ratatouille, Live Free or Die Hard, Sicko. As always, we invite you to share your thoughts on films in theaters in our Movie Talk Forum Area.
