This Week's Notable DVDs: Death Proof, Troy and We Are Marshall
A strong week for notable DVDs including: Death Proof - Extended and Unrated [Review] - Quentin Tarantino's half of The Grindhouse release is stronger and longer on its own, and while it's not a masterpiece, it's worth checking out for Kurt Russell's stand out performance; Troy: Director's Cut [Review] - a fuller, richer, and more epic narrative packed solid with everything you'd be prepared to see from an action / adventure rendition of Troy's tale; We Are Marshall [DVD Review | HD DVD Review ] - a lovingly crafted tribute to, not only the sport of football and the thrill of competition, but also the redemptive powers of the game and finding the will to go on in the face of overwhelming adversity. Other notable DVDs out this week include: Boston Legal: S3, Brothers & Sisters: S1 [Review], Commando,
Family Guy, V5 [Review],
Flashdance, Gracie [Review],
Saturday Night Fever,
Wall Street and
Zoo. Be sure to check out our DVD Talk Review Database for all the latest reviews including an entire section devoted to reviews of DVDs out this week.
