DVD Savant: Best of 2007. Shinobi no mono, and Latitude Zero
This week the DVD Savant presents his seventh 'best-of' DVD list, another string of head-scratchers that doesn't follow conventional wisdom but amounts to a stack of good entertainment. New reviews include: Shinobi no mono - an exciting and clever suspense film unlike the general run of stiff & stylized samurai pix; Latitude Zero - With dueling submarines, brain surgery to create a flying Griffin, goofy monster rats and goofier monster bat men this film lies somewhere in the twilight zone between 2001: A Space Odyssey and Teletubbies; and The Way I Spent the End of the World - A charming coming-of-age story set in Romania just before the fall of the oppressive Nicolae Ceaucescu regime.; Read all this and more in this week's DVD Savant.
