This Week's Notable DVDs: Sweeney Todd, Bette Davis, and the Chipmunks
Another banner week for DVDs with the studios releasing some great films
and boxed sets such as: Sweeney Todd [review]
- an artistic leap forward for director Tim Burton and also happens to be one of the best film musicals yet made;; The Bette Davis Collection, Vol. 3 [review] - This third trip to the well of the TCM Davis archives brings together six films never before available on DVD, all of them from Davis' peak years at Warner; and Alvin and the Chipmunks - this live-action version of the classic cartoon show is fun for kids of all ages.; Other releases of note
