DVD Talk Giveaway: La Chinoise and Le Gai Savoir - Two Films by Jean-Luc Godard
This week we have a special giveaway from KOCH LORBER - two classics from Jean-Luc Godard now available for the first time on DVD. In La Chinoise, Godard presents one of his most contentious and prophetic works. Released prior to the May 1968 riots in France, the film follows a small group of students who, after studying Mao and the growth of communism in China, plan on changing the world by any means necessary. Extensive DVD extras include never-before-released interviews with Godard and Anne Wiazemsky, Venice Film Festival press conference footage and more. In Le Gai Savoir, two militants (Jean-Pierre Léaud and Juliet Berto) have a discourse on language inside an abandoned television studio. Called "one of Godard's most beautiful" and "visually lucid movies" (The New York Times), the film is renowned for marking the beginning of the director's "radical period." Enter now for your chance to win one of 5 sets of these two eagerly awaited, digitally restored films.
