DVD Savant: The Secret Invasion, Frank Sinatra, and V for Vendetta
This week the DVD Savant has a number of new reviews including: The Secret Invasion - Roger Corman's Yugoslavia-filmed war movie predates The Dirty Dozen by three years to tell the tale of criminals rounded up to go on a suicide mission; Frank Sinatra The Golden Years - Five titles by Ol' Blue Eyes, the excellent The Tender Trap, The Man with the Golden Arm and Some Came Running and the not-so-hot later efforts None but the Brave and Marriage on the Rocks; and V for Vendetta (Blu-ray) - Hugo Weaving's back and Natalie Portman's got him! Anarchy and rebellion against a 1984-Brazil-Fascist nightmare English state, by a masked avenger who likes to blow things up. Read all this and more in this week's DVD Savant.
