DVDTalk Spotlight: Outfest 2008: The 26th Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Film Festival July 9-21
For 26 years, Outfest has led the charge, spotlighting emerging talent, creating community between filmmakers and audiences and offering a world-class forum for stories that reflect and often transform LGBT lives. This non-profit organization hosts the oldest and one of the largest film festivals in Southern California with an attendance of over 55,000 people each year. Though the July festival (July 9-21, 2008) is the largest program, Outfest fulfills it's mission to "protect our past, showcase our present and nurture our future by fostering artistic expression of gender, sexuality and LGBTQ culture and its transformative social impact on the world" through five diverse programs throughout the year. Don't miss what the Los Angeles Times has called "more than just a film festival, it's a full-on happening" with some of the best films and parties Los Angeles has to offer. Check it out at today.
