DVD Savant: Cyclops, Changeling, and Five
Cyclops This week the DVD Savant has a number of new reviews including: Cyclops - Roger Corman conquers a new exploitation jungle, the cable TV backwater of the Sci-Fi channel. This Roman monster mash uses standing sets and mediocre effects but delivers the requisite gallons of gory mayhem.; Changeling - Clint Eastwood fashions a tense kidnapping story for Angelina Jolie, but something's missing at the center. Great acting, nice period detail, true story; and Five - Arch Oboler's prophetic is the first post-nuke drama, a grimly uncompromised Sci-Fi story that plays like a foreign art film ... in 1951. Very different, very original. With Susan Douglas, William Phipps & Charles Lampkin. Read all this and more in this week's DVD Savant
