DVD Savant: French Connection, Donnie Darko, and The Quare Fellow
French Connection This week the DVD Savant has a number of new reviews including: French Connection - William Friedkin's Blu-ray of the Oscar-winning cop classic boasts a long list of new HD extras -- and a controversial new HD transfer.; Donnie Darko - Blu-ray. Richard Kelly's oddball teen angst picture is fast becoming a confirmed classic. Donnie Darko is a disturbed high schooler who takes orders from a demonic rabbit that warns that the end of the world is 28 days away. ; and The Quare Fellow - Patrick McGoohan fans, a real find. This excellent 1962 drama makes him a new prison jailer dealing with a pending execution - and comforting the widow-to-be. Read all this and more in this week's DVD Savant.
