This Week's Notable DVDs: Star Trek on Blu-ray, The Hit, and The Reader
Some noteworthy DVDs are coming out this week including: Star Trek: The Original Series - Season 1 (Blu-ray) [review] - this release, for the first time, offers the option to seamlessly branch between the original visual effects and the new CGI effects; The Hit - Criterion Collection [review] a rewarding and intriguing trip, full of first-rate performances and skillful touches from a director (Stephen Frears) who was really starting to show what he could do; and The Reader (Blu-ray) [review] - a powerful film and don't worry, Winslet's Oscar is more than deserved here.
Other releases of note include: Bride Wars [review], Johnny Got His Gun [review], and What Doesn't Kill You [review].
