Talking Out of Frame: Akira Kurosawa, Sacha Guitry, and Josef von Sternberg
Akira Kurosawa This month DVDTalk's Arthouse column, Talking Out of Frame, takes a look at a few recent retrospectives. Some great collections spotlighting important directors have been released including a set of The First Films of Akira Kurosawa, acclaimed playwright turned cinematic auteur Sacha Guitry, and an impressive set of 3 Silent Classics by Josef von Sternberg. We also look at a contemporary film that could end up being influential thanks to its unique style, the French crime movie A Prophet, as well as the Mussolini biopic Vincere. Read about all of these releases and a lot more in this month's Talking Out of Frame!
