DVD Savant: The Twilight Zone, Chaplin, and The Hypnotic Eye
This week the DVD Savant has a number of new reviews and articles including: The Twilight Zone Season 2 - HD transfers in startling clarity present Rod Serling's imaginative fantasy TV show at its very best. The four disc Blu-ray box overflows with commentaries, interviews and a bonus TV show; Chaplin at Keystone - An authoritative boxed set contains all but one of Chaplin's first films for Mack Sennett's Keystone Studio, restored to excellent quality. The Little Tramp is invented before our eyes. Nicely appointed with interesting extras; and The Hypnotic Eye - One of the crazier horror pix of the post- William Castle gimmick days, this shocker alternates gruesome scenes of self-mutilation with supposedly real attempts to hypnotize the audience. "Look if you DARE!" Read all this and more in this week's DVD Savant.
