This Week's Notable DVDs: Ben-Hur, Battling Butler / Go West, and Good Neighbors
There are a few new releases this week that you won't want to miss. Check out these hot titles: Ben-Hur [Blu-ray review] - thanks to Warner's painstaking frame-by-frame restoration this is the one of the very BEST looking catalogue titles ever released on Blu-ray; Battling Butler / Go West [Blu-ray review] - these two films look and sound terrific as they treat us to yet more of Keaton's cool genius; and Good Neighbors [Blu-ray review] - a brilliant film that shrugs off virtually every last one of the usual thriller conventions, choosing instead to draw more deeply from classic noir.
And since Halloween is just around the corner, check out these highly recommended horror-related films: Godfather of Gore: The Herschell Gordon Lewis Documentary [DVD review], Basket Case [Blu-ray], and The Blood Trilogy [Blu-ray review].
