This Week's Notable Releases: The Act of Killing, Throne of Blood, and The Killing Fields
Another banner week for DVDs with the studios releasing some great films and boxed sets such as: The Act of Killing [review] - a challenging mix of surrealist and more conventional documentary styles that is as fascinating as it is harrowing and disturbing; Throne of Blood [review] - Akira Kurosawa's atmospheric reworking of Shakespeare's Macbeth remains potent and dynamic almost 60 years later; and The Killing Fields [review] - 30 years after its release, there is still much to admire, respect and marvel about this film.
