This Week's Notable Releases: Pee-wee's Playhouse, Vincent Price, and Billy Crystal
There are some new titles coming out that might make it worth a trip to the video store this week. Check out these recent releases:
Pee-wee's Playhouse: The Complete Series [review] - all these years later, the silly fun of this show remains a joy to watch... the quality of the set in high-definition is outstanding and Shout! Factory has loaded it with a fantastic amount of retrospective bonus content; The Vincent Price Collection II [review] - seriously great stuff... this is an excellent selection of some of Price's best and most enjoyed films presented with a very strong array of supplements old and new; and Billy Crystal 700 Sundays [review] - Billy Crystal's autobiographical one-man show about growing up in Long Beach is so vibrant, heartfelt, and delightfully descriptive that it's not hard for our imagination to leave the physical confines of the stage and find ourselves smack dab in the middle of an eccentric yet caring and loving Jewish family's day-to-day lives in 1950s New York.
