This Week's Notable Releases: Out 1, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, and The Look of Silence
Some great discs are being released this week. Check out these new movies and shows:
Out 1 [review] - After nearly half a century, a lost masterpiece of the French New Wave has finally made its way to American home video with an unbeatable transfer and a solid pair of supplements; Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead [review] - this film is almost entirely dialogue driven but the sardonic wit of the material jives so perfectly with the two leads' acting styles in this picture that you can't help but get a kick out of it... a movie that is frequently really, really funny; and The Look of Silence [review] - Joshua Oppenheimer's film about the mass killings of Indonesia in the mid 1960's is stunning, with moments of immense power told with no dramatic enhancement.
