Recent Notable Releases: The Disaster Artist, The New Centurions, and Downsizing
Some great discs have been released in the last couple of weeks. Check out these new movies and shows:
The Disaster Artist - the movie has many great conceptual ingredients, but writer/director Rian Johnson couldn't pull the recipe together… it still has plenty of fun moments, and that may be enough to keep you entertained; The New Centurions - treads well-worn territory but offers terrific performances and a handful of extremely memorable moments… just as relevant now as it likely was in 1972; and Downsizing - this film starts strong, loses all focus within the first hour, wanders around aimlessly, greatly overstays its welcome, and doesn't come close to earning its navel-gazing non-ending.
