War and Peace
No producer is listed, but this colossal epic had the backing and the resources of the entire Soviet government. In addition to astounding battle scenes, Tolstoy's novel is brought to life through its three main characters and about 100 speaking roles; and there are some powerful emotional moments between the bravura camera & editing techniques. Ruscico & Image have quite an amazing DVD on their hands - it runs over seven hours and covers 5 discs.
