This is the oater that started both the 50's resurgence of big-scale Westerns,
and a career teaming of director Anthony Mann and mega-star James Stewart. The circular tale of a prized show rifle is the pretext for a round-robin of killings and betrayals, as Abel-Stewart hunts down his Cain-like brother Stephen McNally. Shelley Winters, Millard Mitchell, and Dan Duryea star, with bits provided by newcomers Rock Hudson and Tony Curtis.
