The Europeans It's slow, it's quiet, it's refined. But audiences with a literary sensibility love this delicate comedy of manners between sober New Englanders, and those 'dangerously liberated' visitors from the Continent, circa 1840. Lee Remick's sophistication backfires, Wesley Addey is wonderful as a sincerely pious patriarch, and Lisa Eichhorn made news as a wild spirit bursting free from puritan ways. From Merchant/Ivory.   8/28/03 Posted by DVD Savant at August 24, 2003 10:36 AM
