Devils on the Doorstep
Wen Jiang's saga about peasants holding Japanese hostages during WW2 is unique - full of humor and believable
conflicts easily accessible to all viewers. It's almost a comedy farce, until the final act comes around and the reality
of War takes over. A very moving and politically astute picture with a universal theme.
