Akira Kurosawa takes on corporate chicanery, fraud and kickbacks in this labyrinthine thriller about the diabolical vengeance of a company man whose father was forced to kill himself to protect the honor of his executive superiors. It's creepy, exciting and very topical, as Toshiro Mifune ruthlessly turns the villains against one another. Criterion.
